High school registration for Spring 2012 begins Monday, Nov 21st from 10am- 2pm. Students may register any Monday through Dec 12 during these hours.
The Academy at TEACH Bloutville holds classes once a week, on Mondays, with a 14 week schedule at Celebration Church.
Each class meets for 1 hour & 20 minutes of teacher instruction.
The students are given assignments to complete outside of class and are expected to do the required work needed for the full class credit.
Each student and parent must agree to the guidelines set by the Board of Directors at TEACH Blountville and those presented in the Academy Handbook.

Nov 28- Elementary/Middle school break (no high school break)

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Dear Students,
The board of directors at TEACH Blountville is delighted to welcome you to the 2010-2011 school year. To our returning students, we ask that you take the time to help those who are new to acclimate to our co-op. To those of you who are new to our co-op, we welcome you.
In order for students to participate at The Academy, parents are required to attend a mandatory meeting prior to registration AND a high school orientation night with the teachers on a date to be determined.
Please take a few minutes to review the information in this Student Handbook. You will find critical information about the high school's academic requirements, activities, and behavioral expectations, as well as your rights and responsibilities as a student and/or parent.
It is important that you become familiar with this information as a member of The Academy at TEACH Blountville.

Attendance-
We at TEACH Blountville recognize the relationship between positive student attendance and academic success. Students are expected to be punctual and maintain regular class attendance, and we encourage parents to actively support these behaviors.
*Parents will be notified of absences, by cell phone, after attendance is taken each week.
*Parents must notify the teacher ahead of time for known absences.
*After 2 unexcused absences, the teacher has the authority to remove the student from the class.
Progress Reports/ Grade Cards-
Progress reports will be communicated directly to the parents on the 8th week for all students.
Final Grades will be communicated directly to the parents after the 14th week but before the 16th week for all students.
Parent- Teacher Conferences-
If academic problems arise, the parent will be notified by the teacher and a conference will follow.
If a conference is not scheduled by the parent within the week, the teacher has the authority to remove the student from the class.
Code of Conduct
Anything that causes distractions in class can and will be confiscated by the teacher and returned after class or given to the parent. A third infraction of the same type may result in permanent confiscation.
Students are expected to display a good attitude, respect, and courtesy to all adults, especially their own parents, at TEACH Blountville functions.
Fighting is not allowed.
Children should be supervised at all times, particularly during lunch.
Conflicts should be handled in a mature, Biblical manner. Problems should be taken directly and privately to the concerned individual(s) and not become an object of gossip.
Parents and students who are part of TEACH Blountville co-op are expected to meet the requirements of each class as applicable. This includes parent participation when needed and all homework and projects.
Possession of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or weapons is prohibited at all TEACH Blountville functions. This offense will result in immediate dismissal and notification of the authorities.
Code of Conduct Violations-
1st Occurrence- Will be brought to the attention of the Director and a student conference with the Director or Assistant Director will follow.
2nd Occurrence- Notification of the parents, followed by a meeting with parent, teacher, and student.
3rd Occurrence- A meeting with the parents will be called to determine the student's future at TEACH Blountville.
Dress Code on campus-
Males- Collared shirts and pants or shorts to the knee.
No clothing containing anti-Christian or occult text or pictures are allowed. No holes, rips, or tears in pants or shirts.
Females- Collared shirts with sleeves and no appearance of cleavage. Pants, capris, or skirts below the knee.
Violation of Dress code will result in the following:
1st Occurrence- Student will wear the clothing provided by the Director
2nd Occurrence - Parents will be notified and the student will be sent home to change with an unexcused absence.
Activities-
Student activities are an essential part of the high school experience. Activities will be planned on a regular basis by the Social Coordinator.
Academic Program-
TEACH Blountville provides well qualified teachers to assist your parents with your education. The teachers will spend significant time outside of class preparing, and students are expected to do the same. Students may take up to 4 classes per semester, provided minimum academic standards are met, as prescribed by each teacher.
Grading Scale-
This grading scale will be used by all teachers.
It is the parents responsibility to report the students grade to the appropriate umbrella school.
A- 100-90
B- 89-80
C- 79-70
D- 69-60
F- 60 and below
Cellular Phone/Pager Policy-
Students may not use cellular phones in class. Students may have cell phones in their possession, as long as they are turned off and put away upon entering the classroom.
1st Occurrence - If class time is disrupted or a student is seen with a cell phone during class, the phone will be confiscated and returned at the end of the day.
2nd Occurrence - The phone will be taken upon entering the co-op each week thereafter, and it will be returned at the end of the day.
Parent/Student Rights-
Parents have the right to discuss any disciplinary actions with the teacher, Co-op Director, or Board Member(s) at any time.
A special meeting of the Board may be called in a 2 week time frame to address these issues.
